B. Leslie Tirrell (not her real name) became a writer in the third grade when her teacher penalized the class and made them finish a story in their Spelling book. She fell in love with writing that day and never stopped.
After attempts at becoming a Biologist and peon for The Man, B. Leslie returned to her true vocation of writing and earned her MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University in June of 2014.
She lives in Toledo, which has been described as the “armpit of Ohio”. It’s not quite that bad. We’ve got quite the art community, we’re a test subject for new foods restaurants want to try out…which sounds kind of scary in hindsight, and we’re about an hour or so away from America’s Roller Coast, Cedar Point. Check it out. You won’t regret it.
When B.Leslie isn’t writing, she’s procrastinating about writing. She also enjoys cosplay, attending conventions, a host of nerdy TV shows, yaoi, body modifications, having awesome long locs, being Asexual, and being a crazy cat lady. So…how does an Asexual Black woman write gay romance? With lots and lots of evil giggles.
